4 out of 5 stars i LIKE IT   September 26, 2008
M. Rivera (CT USA)
I read through the reviews, and all I can think is that sometimes people forget that make up is different on everyone, depending on your skin tone, coloring and oiliness. That being said, I tried it at the counter before I bought it. Using the famous half face test, When used under make up, there is a definite difference. My make up was smoother looking on the side with "That Gal". And it doesn't feel heavy at all, actually, it just feels like a nice light moisturizer. Since then, I've used it everyday. Even alone, while there is no drastic difference, I'm content. It feels smoother, evenly moisturized and, like one other reviewer, I noticed that I don't see the effect immediatly, but after a few moments. It does make your face look more even and radiant alone. And at work, when I put it on over my makeup, it does seem to look fresher and it feels great. One thing, I bought their brush to apply it, I just pop a little up on the stick and use the brush from there. It does come out quickly, so this way I've been able to dispense less and not waste any. A little does go a long way

5 out of 5 stars Great Primer and Brightener   August 12, 2008

I love this product, not only does it keep my foundation, powder, and blush from getting chalky or smearing, but it really brightens dry skin without making it feel oily (a big problem for me). It adds a really subtle glow that just makes you look more awake and fresh.

That being said this is certainly a product for the fair skinned. I let my hispanic friend use it and it didn't do much except keep her makeup in place.

Also, I did notice that it caused another one of my friends to break out. She has a lot of allergies so you might want to test it first on your arm to see if you'll break out.

A lot of people like to skip the primer step but I've noticed that it keeps you're make-up out of your pores and from drying you out.

I don't like the look of a lot of foundation and like the feel even less. I tried That Gal at the Benefit counter at the mall and fell for it. It's very sheer and lightly pink. I use it all over my face but a little really goes a long way. It does smooth over pores and fine lines without being cakey. Oddly, whenever I first put it on it seems like nothing happened at all. But after a few moments I notice that my skin looks very even and does have a nice glow and light sheen without looking glossy. I use it over Oil of Olay spf 15 moisturizer, then apply Benetint to my cheeks followed by a light covering of Benefit's Dr. Feelgood. I'm getting married soon so I've tried a lot of cosmetics lately trying to find the right one for my wedding day to make me look perky yet natural. This is it. I hope they never discontinue the product.
